She claims that telling the story of how she found her authentic cultural voice and warns that if the people hear only a single story about another person or thing, we risk a critical misunderstanding. "The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story" (Adichie). There are more stereotypes than ever before such as black and white stereotypes, men and women stereotypes, and ethnic stereotypes. Many people assume that one thing done by a certain group and automatically think that every person belonging to that group does the same things. Her audience would be the people that was dealing with stereotyping. Each group is called by name, that doesn't really fit to everyone in that specific group. Therefor stereotypes affect people's social li fe, emotions, and how people interact with their environment. We all have experienced stereotyping before, when a person is giving some a label such as their sex, ethnic, and other facts.
